Belles roll over Western New Mexico 3-0

SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State women's volleyball team defeated Western New Mexico 3-0 (25-12, 25-23, 25-18) to remain undefeated at home and move to 15-4 (8-1 Lone Star Conference) Friday evening at Stephens Arena in the Junell Center.

The Belles got off to a blistering start, dominating the opening set with a team hitting percentage of .400 and holding WNMU to a negative percentage.

The second and third sets were much tighter as the Belles cooled off, but they still managed to take both sets with relative ease.

Offensively, the Belles were led by junior middle blocker Anna Graham, who posted 16 kills on 27 attempts with only three errors for a hitting percentage of .481. Graham added five digs and three blocks on the night. Baleigh Allen also had an excellent outing, posting nine kills on 16 attempts with only one error for a hitting percentage of .500.

Defensively, the Belles had four players with double digit digs, led by Sundara Chinn with 12. Chinn also posted seven kills and four blocks in the contest. Freshmen Morgan Preston, Chloe Robinson, and Makenna Hanssen all contributed 11 digs on the evening.

Setter Meghan Parker was as steady as she has been all year long, contributing 35 assists and four digs without committing a ballhandling error.

ASU will be in action again tomorrow as they take on UTPB in Stephens Arena in the Junell Center at 2 p.m.
