SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State University women's basketball team tipped off their season with a win against the Texas Wesleyan University Lady Rams. The Belles defeated the Lady Rams, 78-67.

- The Lady Rams came to the Junell Center after defeating Paul Quinn College in Waxahachie, Texas, 71-58.
- The Lady Rams are members of the South Atlantic Conference and fell in the SAC quarterfinals when they played No. 8 Wayland Baptist Pioneers.
- Catara Samuel had a career high 22 points against the Lady Rams.
- De'Anira Moore registered a double-double with 10 rebounds and 12 points, as well as true freshman, Kinley Brown, who registered 11 rebounds and 12 points.
- The Belles shot 48.9 percent from the field, 22.2 percent from beyond the arc, and 81.9 percent from the free throw line.
