DENVER, Colorado – The Angelo State University Belles volleyball teams season came to an end as the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers defeated the Belles in four sets, bringing the Belles season to a close.
The Belles finish the season 29-3.

Set One
- Set one started off to a slow start for both the Belles and the Orediggers as both teams could not gain enough of a lead to take a significant lead over the other.
- With Morgan Preston back to serve for the Belles, Angelo State scored three quick points to tie the game up at 10-10.
- Colorado School of Mines scored six unanswered points to extend their lead to 16-11.
- Kills from Sundara Chinn, Baleigh Allen, and Sophia Berg brought ASU within two points, 20-22.
- One kill from Chinn, and several error from the Orediggers, alongside Haley Coulters serving capabilities brought the Belles to a 25-24 lead over CSM.
- An attack error from CSM ended the first set in favor of the Belles, 28-26.
Set Two
- The Orediggers started set two quickly, jumping to a 3-1 lead over the Belles early in set two.
- Kailyn Gilbreaths serving abilities showed her skill and determination as she served for four straight points, one being a service ace. Three kills from Allen brought the Blue and Gold to a 6-3 lead.
- A kill from Mines brought the score to 7-6 in favor of the Orediggers.
- The Belles and Orediggers continued to trade points back and forth throughout the set, with CSM taking advantage of an attack error from the Belles and scoring a quick kill to end set two, 25-23 Mines.
Set Three
- Mines once again jumped to an early 3-1 lead over Angelo State in the start of set three.
- A kill from Allen and an error from the Orediggers brought the score to 7-6, Mines.
- ASU and CSM once again began trading points, until several quick kills from the Orediggers brought their lead to three, 16-13.
- Four answered points by the Orediggers extended their lead to six, 20-14.
- Angelo State attempted to make a comeback several times, but could not gain enough momentum to go on a scoring run as Colorado School of Mines claimed set three, 25-21.
Set Four
- Fatigue started to show in set four as the Belles and Orediggers traded points again, neither team able to gain enough of an advantage over the other.
- CSM found their second wind however, scoring four straight points to bring their lead to 9-5.
- The Belles found their second wind very shortly thereafter, as a kill from Gilbreath, two service aces from Coulter, and several errors from the Orediggers brought the Belles lead to 11-9.
- Colorado School of Mines slowly started to pull away from the Belles in points with multiple kills, going on two separate four point runs that were unanswered by the Belles to bring the score to 22-14.
- A kill from the Orediggers brought the Belles season to an end as CSM won set four and the match, 25-16.
