SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State University football team upset No. 14 Midwestern State on Saturday evening, 28-6.
Angelo State improves to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in conference action.

- Late in the first quarter, Payne Sullins found Austin Landry down field to put the Rams on the board and lead, 7-0.
- Halfway through the second quarter, Sullins completed a pass to Keke Chism for 36-yards to set up the scoring drive. The final play of the drive, Sullins rushed it in for a touchdown to increase the Rams lead, 14-0.
- In the second half, Sullins aired it out to Keke Chism for a 21-yard touchdown reception to push ASU's lead to 21-0.
- The Rams scored within 34 seconds at the end of the third, beginning of the fourth, to lead 28-0 and continue a shutout.
- In the final two minutes of the game, Triston Williams hit Kylan Harrison for a five-yard touchdown pass to end the Rams shutout and fall 28-6.
- Angelo State held MSU to its largest deficit of the season at 14-0.
- MSU entered the game as the no. 1 red zone defense, while ASU ranked no. 1 in red zone offense.
Key Players:
- Keke Chism ended the game with two touchdowns and 123 yards on six receptions.
- Lawson Ayo finished with 58 yards on two receptions. Ayo also ran 44 yards on three punt returns.
- Sullins finished 15-of-28 with 257 yards and three touchdowns.
- Josh Quinton led the defense with one interception, one forced fumble and fumble recovery, seven tackles, and two sacks for a loss of 19 yards.
