Rambelle Basketball Continues Winning Ways with 82-39 Victory over Huston-Tillotson

SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State women's basketball team won their third game in four days with a dominant 82-39 victory over NAIA opponent Huston-Tillotson on Tuesday night inside the Junell Center.

Never trailing for the whole game, the Rambelles pulled out a 20-7 lead after the first quarter, led by six points each by Payton Brown and Lindsey Marchese in the quarter.

The Rambelles were dominant in the contest, entering halftime with a 37-15 lead and ending the third quarter with a 61-25 advantage.

The Rambelles shot 46.5 percent from the field for the game while holding the Lady Rams to a 25.4 shooting percentage.

All 15 players that suited up for the Rambelles saw the floor in this contest – with all but one of them putting their name on the scoresheet. Additionally, no Rambelle played more than 20 minutes in their final contest before the holiday break.

Brown led the Rambelles with 11 points on 5-8 shooting from the floor. The Lubbock native grabbed five rebounds, assisted four times, and grabbed four steals in only 15 minutes of action.

Madeline Stephens grabbed 16 rebounds – a career high – while scoring five points. The 16 rebounds for Stephens are the third-most for any player in the LSC in a single game this season.

Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant scored nine points on 3-4 shooting from the floor, also converting all three of her attempts from the charity stripe.

Marchese, Sawyer Lloyd and Taylor Moravcik all scored eight points, with the mark tying a season-high for Marchese while Moravick shot 4-7 from the field for her first collegiate points.

Sadie Misner, Tynli Harris, Neely Wood and Brighton Adams all scored six points, with the six points being the first for Adams in her collegiate career.

The Rambelles improve to 3-8 on the season entering the holiday break. They return to action on the road on December 31st against St. Edward's to open LSC play.
