EDMOND, Okla. - The 13th-ranked Angelo State women's tennis team fell in the final game of the ITA Division II Indoor National Championship on Sunday, dropping a match 4-0 against eighth-ranked Central Oklahoma to close out the tournament. 

With the loss, the Belles take fourth place after opening the tournament with a defeat of seventh-ranked West Florida for their first win over a top-10 team. 

Central Oklahoma took an early lead after earning the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Valentina Gonzalez and Ena Ovcina saw their doubles match unfinished, tied at 5-5. 

The Broncos wrapped the match with wins in singles play at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4. 

Virginie Becht won her first set, 6-3 while Alexandra Vishnevskaya also won her first set 6-4. 

The Belles will return to action next week as they play two matches against Southern Baptist and Southeastern Oklahoma on March 5. Angelo State will open Lone Star Conference play at home on Saturday, Mar. 20 as the Belles host Texas A&M – Kingsville.
