Silver City, N.M. – The Angelo State volleyball team overcame a slow start on the road against Western New Mexico to open their Lone Star Conference schedule with a win on Tuesday night.
The Mustangs took the first set 25-19 as they hit .222 along with six service aces. The Mustangs also held a 24-18 lead in the second set, but the Rambelles rattled off an 8-0 scoring run as
Jaedyn Woolley held serve for the Belles in their comeback.

Cate Boldrick,
Hannah Kinnison, and
Sydney Mundkowsky and three straight blocks by Boldrick and Mundkowsky helped the Belles avoid a 2-0 deficit to the hosts.
The Belles hit .421 in the third set to take a 2-1 lead, and a tight fourth set saw the Belles claim that set and the match by a 25-23 scoreline.
Boldrick led the Belles with 13 kills on the evening. The freshman from Austin was efficient for the Belles, only committing one error in 18 attack attempts for a .667 hitting percentage.
Kinnison recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs, while
Marina Sanchez added eight kills and a .316 attack percentage.
Freshman
Kayla Baer, in her first collegiate start, recorded her second double-double of the season with 27 assists to go with ten digs.
Libero
Caleigh Enax led the team with 15 digs as four Belles reached double figures in digs – Enax,
Sam Rodgers (12), Kinnison (12), and Baer (10).
The Belles are 5-8 on the season and 1-0 in LSC play. They are back in action inside Stephens Arena in the Junell Center on Saturday at 2 p.m. when they host UTPB.
