Rambelles Fall to No. 15 West Texas A&M in Canyon

Canyon, Texas – The Angelo State volleyball team's five-match winning streak was snapped Friday night against 15th-ranked West Texas A&M in a battle of unbeaten squads in LSC play.

It was a tight match early, with the score tied 8-all; however, the Lady Buffs would rattle off a 17-5 run for the rest of the set to claim a 25-13 victory in set one.

The hosts continued their hot streak, scoring the first seven points of set two as the Rambelles could not mount a comeback.

Set three proved to be closest, with the Belles putting in a 9-2 run to make the score 20-22 in the final frame, ultimately falling 21-25.

Hannah Kinnison led the Belles with eight kills, while Elsa Lamphere followed with six of her own. Jaedyn Woolley led the Belles with nine digs, and setter Kayla Baer assisted 14 times.

The Belles are 8-9 on the season and 4-1 in conference play. They are back in action tomorrow afternoon against Cameron, who is coming off a loss to UT Permian Basin tonight.
