FORT SMITH, Ark. - The Angelo State women's tennis team triumphed over UAFS Thursday afternoon. earning a 7-0 win to improve to 2-0 in Lone Star Conference play.
The Belles took the doubles point with a 6-2 line one win by
Ayda Guler and
Ramitha Irrinki.
Eva Schwartz and
Mieke Van Deventer teamed up for the first time this season, winning line two 6-4.
Letizia Corsini, this week's LSC Player of the Week, picked up a point in the top position with a 6-4, 6-4 win against the Lions. In position two, Eva Scwartz emerged victorious with a score of 6-4, 6-3 as well as
Christine Jevicky in line three, winning it 6-4, 6-0.
Ayda Guler was able to conquer line four 6-2, 6-0 to grab another point for the Belles as well as
Mieke Van Deventer who won line five 6-2, 6-2.
The Belles continue on the road on Saturday, facing Cameron in another LSC matchup beginning at 1 p.m.
