No. 14 Belles Sweep Mustangs in Midweek Contest

Silver City, N.M. – The Angelo State volleyball team picked up their ninth sweep of the season on Wednesday evening in Silver City, defeating Western New Mexico in straight set on Drag's Court. The Rambelles took set one 25-17 before taking sets two and three 25-23 and 25-21.

The Belles hit .224 as a team while holding the hosts to a .155 attack percentage on their home court. The second set featured a hot Belles offense that only committed one error and hit .386 for the frame.

Madi Parrish led all players with 12 kills; she fell shy of a double-double with nine digs.

Evelyn Torres also fell shy of a double-double with nine kills and 14 digs.

Sydney Thornton did not commit a single attack error, converting nine kills in 17 chances for a .529 attack percentage. The freshman also recorded four blocks. Fellow freshman Demi Carter had eight kills and hit .263 for the evening.

Adeline Ortman assisted 34 times and had a service ace. Libero Caleigh Enax led all players with 15 digs as the Belles out-dug the Mustangs 58-48.

The Belles improve to 16-2 on the season and 6-1 in LSC play. They are back in action on Friday evening inside the Junell Center – Stephens Arena when they host Sul Ross State for their annual Dig Pink match.
