ODESSA, Texas - After a defensive battle the Angelo State women soccer team were able to come out of Odessa with a point after drawing 1-1 with UT Permian Basin Wednesday evening.

The Rambelles move to 8-1-4 on the season and 6-0-2 in LSC play. The Falcons move to 4-5-3 overall with the draw and 2-4-2 in conference action.

The offense would come out firing early in the game. The Rambelles would fire off three shots in the first ten minutes missing just high on all of them.

Amber Lockwood would see her first action of the game in the 31rst minute as she would record back-to-back saves when Kristel Chaves shot rebounding right back to her and ended being secured by Lockwood.

Christina Clark would see the first real chance on offense for the Blue and Gold as she would have her shot saved  by a diving Valeria Delgado to keep the game tied at 0-0.Â

In the 39th minute, UTPB would find luck on their side as the Rambelles would be called for a foul inside the box resulting in a penalty kick for the Falcons. Laura Perez would hit the back of the net for the Falcons giving them a 1-0 advantage with five minutes left in the first half.

Three minutes later the Rambelles would get their chance at a penalty kick after a collision inside the box.
Abby James would find the back of the net on her penalty making the game once again tied 1-1 going into the halftime. With the penalty it would give James her third goal tying her with
Madison Bourzikas for the team lead.

At halftime the Rambelles would have 7 shots compared to the five of the Falcons. Lockwood would also have two saves matching her saves from the last two contest combined.
It was a physical battle in the second half with fouls being on called on both side with not much action happing on either side until in the 86th minute when
Kailee Meyer would be open on the left flank and
Sanai Stewart would send a ball over the top of the defense that would fall right in front of Meyer. Meyer would go on and get past the keeper, but would just send the ball inches right of goal post.

The Rambelles would have 14 shots in the contest with six being on goal compared to UTPB's six shots and four being on target.Â

The Rambelles will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 26th as they face No.10 DBU on homecoming weekend, with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
