Canyon, Texas – The Angelo State volleyball won their 11
th Lone Star Conference Tournament Championship this evening inside The Box, defeating West Texas A&M on their home court in four sets.
The Rambelles dropped the first set 25-27 before taking set two 27-25. They continued their momentum into set three with a 25-19 win before clinching the title with a 25-22 decision in set four.
The Belles hit .224 for the match, while the defense held a potent Lady Buffs offense in check, as the hosts only hit .176.
The Belles out-blocked WT 14-7 at the net and were led by Syndey Thornton's nine rejections.
Tournament MVP
Madi Parrish finished the match with 18 kills and a .255 attack percentage. She had three blocks and eight digs.
Evelyn Torres had 16 kills and finished with a double-double, adding ten digs on defense. She also had four blocks, including one solo block.
Demi Carter joined her teammates in double figures with 14 kills, including the championship-clinching kill. Carter, named to the All-Tournament Team, hit .343 for the match and had five blocks.
Thornton came up shy of a double-double with nine kills to go with her nine blocks.
Adeline Ortman assisted 51 times, her second-straight match with 50 or more assists and her seventh of the season. The All-Tournament Team selection tied her career-high with 19 digs.

Caleigh Enax led the Belles with 25 digs.
The Belles finish the tournament with a 28-2 record, having won their past 16 matches and avenging their last loss, which happened inside The Box on October 9
th against West Texas A&M. The Belles have clinched a spot in the NCAA Tournament, with the entire field being released Monday at 6 p.m. on the NCAA Selection show.
