SILVER CITY, N.M. - The Angelo State women's basketball team learned on their defense, which forced 16 turnovers, to best Western New Mexico 60-55 Saturday afternoon at Drag's Court.

The Rambelles improve to 16-7 on the season and move to 10-4 in Lone Star Conference action. The Mustangs fall to 8-10 overall and 3-10 in conference play.

40 MINUTE RUNDOWN
- Madeline Stephens got things started for the Rambelles, scoring the first points of the game to give the Rambelles a 2-0 lead.
- Madi Lumsden hit a three at the 8:27 marker to give the Rambelles a 5-3 lead.
- A jumper from Stephens with 39 seconds left in the first quarter gave the Rambelles a 12-point lead, 19-7 going into the second quarter of action.
- After a steal by Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant and a layup from Sawyer Lloyd would give the Rambelles a 16-point lead, 25-9, the largest of the game.
- A 9-0 run by the Mustangs would bring the Rambelles lead to six, 30-24 going into halftime.
- The Mustangs would get their first lead of the game, 39-38, at the 4:08 marker after a driving layup from Jade Goynes.
