SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Angelo State women's basketball team will be on the road in San Antonio on Saturday for a rematch against St. Mary's University with tip-off set at 4 p.m. in the Bill Greehey Arena.

Angelo State dropped its previous contest against the Lady Rattlers earlier this season, 58-47, in the West Texas A&M Thanksgiving Classic on Nov. 25, but still leads the all-time series 25-19.

The Belles (2-4, 1-0 Lone Star Conference) defeated reigning Lone Star Conference tournament champion Texas Woman's University, 67-48, on Wednesday in the first LSC contest of the year for both squads. ASU had four players score in double-digits and held the Pioneers to its lowest offensive scoring output of the season.

Leah LeMaire and Haylee Oliver have been playing strong as of late scoring in double digits the last two games including career-highs of 15 and 14 points respectively versus the Pioneers. Oliver also added seven rebounds and three assist against TWU while LeMaire had three steals.

Senior Paige Weishuhn added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Belles against Texas Woman's in her first game back after missing the previous two contests, including the St. Mary's game, because of injury. Weishuhn leads the Belles in both categories with 15.8 points and 6.8 boards per game.

Defensively is where the Belles have made their mark this season allowing 62.2 points per game, fourth in the LSC. Morgan Youngblood is sixth in the conference in steals per game at 2.3 while sophmore Lauren Holt is fourth in blocks with 1.2 per contest.

St. Mary's (1-8) is coached by sixth-year head coach Jason Martens and is a member of the Heartland Conference. The Lady Rattlers are led in scoring by Jackie Edwards' 13.8 points per contest while Morgan Pullins 6.6 rebounds per game paces St. Mary's.
