Belles Fall to UCO 67-64

SAN ANGELO, Texas –
The Angelo State women's basketball team dropped its first game of the season to Central Oklahoma, 67-64, at the Marriott Champions Circle Pioneer Premiere hosted by Texas Woman's.
 
Central Oklahoma (2-1) tied the game at 60 with 3:58 to play in the game after being down by as much as nine in the second half. UCO extended its lead to five with two minutes to go but the Belles (1-1) missed some shots in the closing minutes that would have closed the gap. ASU was up 34-30 at the half before being outscored by seven in the second half.
 
Haylee Oliver led the Belles with 16 points and five rebounds. Leah LeMaire added 13 points and three steals. For the second-straight game Lauren Holt grabbed double-digit rebounds with 10.
 
Four players scored in double-digits points for Central Oklahoma. Jill Bryan led the team with 19 points while Alyssa Fuxa added 14 points. Britney Morgan and Hayley Bryan chipped in 11 and 10 respectively.
 
The Belles return to the court tomorrow against Texas A&M-International at 2 p.m.
