SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State women's basketball team will play its final game of 2012 on Tuesday in Laredo, Texas, against Texas A&M-International at 7 p.m.
The Belles go into the contest at 5-4 on the season and 3-1 in the Lone Star Conference. ASU is 2-3 in non-conference action but are 2-0 on the road.
Leah LeMaire is leading the team in scoring at 13.1 points per game. Overall four Belles are averaging double-digit points and
Haylee Oliver and
Lauren Holt average just over nine rebounds per game. Holt is leading the LSC in blocked shots at 2.6 per game Oliver is second in the league with 8.6 defensive rebounds per game.
ASU leads the league in field goal percentage defense (.353) rebounding margin (+5.6), blocked shots (4.3) and defensive rebounds (30.0). Sally Walling Brooks will look for career win No. 398 of her career.
This will be the second meeting between the two schools. The Belles defeated the Dustdevils (3-6, 0-1) 53-43 in Denton on November 18. Oliver scored 16 points and grabbed nine boards. ASU held TAMU-International to 24.6-percent from the field and forced 22 turnovers.
