SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State volleyball team will seek to get back on track with a pair of conference matchups at the Stephens Arena this weekend, hosting Midwestern State on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. and Cameron on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 2 p.m.
After a disappointing loss on the road last Friday, the Belles were left with a 15-4 overall record and a 4-1 conference record. They open the pair of conference match-ups in a three way tie for second place. Cameron, Saturday's match-up, and Tarleton State share the spot with the Belles.
"We have to get back to doing what we do well, which is defending a transition," said head coach
Chuck Waddington on the improvements that he will be looking for entering this week's match-ups. "Our blocking is an area that needs improvement, and we have spent a lot of time on it this week. Most importantly we have to play with a lot of confidence and that if we do what we do well we will probably get a win. Basically, getting back to basics is what we were trying to do."
ASU is 12-1 under head coach
Chuck Waddington against Midwestern State (5-14, 0-5 LSC). The Mustangs will be looking to continue the momentum off its last win against Southern Nazerene where it held the opponent to a .140 clip and won in five sets.
Waddington is 11-0 all time when facing Cameron University (13-1, 4-1 LSC). The Aggies are currently tied with ASU for second place in the conference and are also looking to get back on track as it is coming off its first loss of the season and first loss in the LCS to Tarleton State.
