Belles Return to Action Against Dust Devils

SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State women's basketball team will host Texas A&M International in its final non-conference game of the season on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. in the Stephens Arena in the Junell Center.
 

The Belles are 7-2 on the season and 4-1 against non-conference opponents. ASU has won three straight games and six of the last seven while surpassing the 80 point mark in all three victories. Angelo State is currently ranked in the top 25 nationally in blocked hosts per game (No. 14) with 5.3 per game, fewest turnovers (No. 25) with 133 and rebound margin (No. 19) at 9.0 per game. ASU is also the No. 1 scoring team in the LSC at 74.0 points per game and No. 2 in scoring defense only allowing 58.8 points per game.
 

Six players average double figures in points while one is averaging a double-double on the season.

De'Anira Moore, the No. 4 scorer and No. 1 rebounder per game, leads the team in both categories. She has recorded six double-doubles on the season. The Allen native scores 15.0 points per game and 11.2 rebounds per game, which is 14th nationally. . She is No. 7 nationally in blocked shots per game at 3.0 and has a total of 27 on the season. Moore is also the No. 2 national offensive rebounder with 5.0 per game. She leads ASU with a .512 field goal percentage while also dishing out 14 assists.
 

Ekiya Gray has made an impact in her first two games as a Belle. The senior scored double figures against both St. Edward's and Illinois-Springfield and is scoring 14.5 points per game. She has made 47.1 percent from the field and got to the free throw line 17 times making 12 attempts.
 

Marquita Daniels, the No. 10th nationally in steals per game at 3.33 per game, is third on the team in scoring at 12.1 per game. She has six games in double figures including a season high 24 versus Cameron. The Atlanta native leads the team with 22 assists and 30 total steals.
 

Madi Greenwood is No. 6 nationally in free throw percentage at .941. The senior scored 11.7 per game and went off for 20 points in the Daytona Hoops Classic opener against St. Edward's. She is ASU's top 3-point shooter with a .447 clip. The Kansas native has made 32-of-34 free throws on the season.
 

Dezirae Hampton recorded her first double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds against St. Edward's. She is scoring 10.9 points per game and is second on the team in rebounds with 7.9. She makes 44.7 percent from the field and has 18 assists on the year.
 

Keanna Kelly is the sixth player on the team in double digit scoring. The senior averages 10.0 points per game. She has made 15 three-pointers on the year and is second on the team with a .810 free throw clip. She has four games scoring in double figures.
 

Mikayla Blount, Kynese Davis, Dearria Watson and Aaliyah Warren have contributed off the bench. Blount is coming off a career high 14 points against Illinois Springfield. She averages 4.4 points per game and has made eight 3-pointers. Davis has handed out 18 assists on the year and scored 3.7 points per game. Watson scored 1.9 per game while Warren adds 1.8 per game.
 

The game will be carried locally on RamTV Suddenlink Channel 6 and heard on 1260AM KKSA with Jeremy Bryant on the call.
