Belles start LSC play on the road this week

SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State women's basketball team (2-0) will start Lone Star Conference play on the road this week as they travel to Texas A&M-Commerce and Tarleton State.

Senior guard Marquita Daniels has paced the Belles in their first two wins, averaging 18 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and four steals per contest.

Returners Dezirae Hampton and De'Anira Moore have also been strong contributors thus far as well. Hampton is averaging 16 points and eight rebounds per contest, while Moore is averaging 14 points and eight rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the field. She also leads the team with two blocks per game.

Senior transfer Maria Delgado has been integral as well, averaging 10.5 points per contest and leading the team with 8.5 rebounds per game. She is also second on the team in assists, averaging three per game.

Texas A&M-Commerce comes into the week with a record of 3-3. The Belles went 1-1 against the Lions last season.

Tarleton State comes into the week with a record of 4-1. The Belles have not won at Tarleton State since the 2005-06 season.
