Belles start 2019 with Kathleen Brasfield Invite

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State University Belles volleyball team kicks off their season this weekend hosting the Kathleen Brasfield Invitational playing four games Friday and Saturday in the Stephens Arena at the Junell Center.

Kathleen Brasfield…
Mrs. Brasfield is one of the winningest coaches in Angelo States history. In her career as the head volleyball coach from 1978 – 2004, she accrued almost 700 wins. While coaching, she led the Belles to seven league titles including four consecutive LSC conference titles from 1982-1985. She was named the women's athletic director in 1982 and held that position until 2004 when she became the overall athletic director. She retired from coaching in 2004 to focus on her administrative duties, and remained at ASU until 2012 when she retired from the athletic director position.
 
Players to Watch…
Meghan Parker returns as a starter for the Belles this year. She accumulated almost 300 digs and almost 1200 assists, averaging almost 10 assists a set for the Belles in the 2018 season. She is currently sitting 6th in the record book for number of assists.
 
Makenna Hansen returns as a starter for the Belles this year. She accumulated 319 digs alone in her freshman debut as a Belle.
