Series Matchup:
The last time the Belles and the Buffs played each other was on December 5, 2019, in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional tournament where the Belles defeated WT in four sets, 4-1. Since 2006, Angelo State is 11-16 against the Buffs, with WT leading the all-time series 57-25.
Scouting WT:
The Buffs split the series with the Lubbock Christian Chaparrals in their first two matches of the season, 1-1, with the Lady Chaps winning the first match in four sets, 3-1, and West Texas winning the second set in three, 3-0. The Buffs return their starting libero, and LSC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, senior Chandler Vogel. Vogel registered 32 digs for West Texas A&M in seven sets against the Chaps, registering two service aces and eight assists for the Buffs. She is currently ranked sixth in the conference for digs, averaging 4.57 per set.
Scouting the Belles:
- Kailyn Gilbreath led the Belles offense against the UTPB Falcons, registering 24 kills and scoring 29 points for Angelo State. Gilbreath finished the series with a .315 hitting percentage, grabbing five assists, four service aces, and 15 digs to end the series.
- Lindsey Ledyard showed her skills for the Belles against the Falcons, registering 54 assists for the week, whilst grabbing 16 digs and one service ace. Ledyard also scored 6.5 points for the Belles, registering five kills for ASU.
- Chloe Patton led the Belles defense against the Falcons, grabbing 20 digs against the Falcons, while registering seven assists and two service aces.
