SAN ANGELO, Texas – The top-ranked Angelo State baseball team will return to action after a week hiatus as the Rams host Texas A&M International in a three-game series at Foster Field at 1
st Community Credit Union Field.
LAST TIME OUT:
The Rams took the series victory against Lubbock Christian, winning the first two-game 9-5 and 7-1 respectively. LCU avoided the sweep, scoring double-digit runs to beat ASU 12-6 in the final game of the series.

Angelo State has found success against the Dustdevils, leading the all-time series while holding a 15-game win streak over TAMIU. During the 2019 season, the Rams swept a three-game series against the Dustdevils, outscoring them 31-3.
SCOUTING TEXAS A&M INTERNATIONAL:
The Dustdevils enter the weekend with a 6-12 overall record, both overall and in conference play. TAMIU opened the season with a series win over UT Permian Basin, taking two of the three games but have not won a series since, taking only one game in four of the last five series. In their most recent series, the Dustdevils lost to Lubbock Christian in games one and three while avoided the sweep with an 11-10 win in game two.
As a team, TAMIU is hitting .249 which ranks ninth in the Lone Star Conference and has tallied the fourth-most hits with 148 including 35 doubles and eight home runs. The Dustdevils are struggling to bring runners home, collecting only 80 RBIs in 18 games. Jerry Villareal leads TAMIU at the plate with a batting average of .397 and is tied for third in the league in hits with 23.
On the mound, TAMIU ranks towards the bottom of the conference in ERA at 11
th with a 7.00 ERA as a team. They have given up a league-high 120 earned runs and 113 walks on the season in just over 154 innings pitched. Abanny Garcia leads the Dustdevils with a 3.60 ERA while tallying 27 strikeouts and a 1-1 overall record.

The Rams hold the top pitching staff in the Lone Star Conference, working a team ERA of 3.83 while allowing the fewest runs with 52.
Benjamin Elder holds the lowest ERA of any pitcher in the LSC at 0.64 while
Trent Baker sits in fourth at 2.36. Baker is also third in strikeouts with 31 on the season.
AT THE PLATE:
ASU has three batters in the top five in average with
Josh Elvir leading the conference with a .476 batting average followed by
Parker Bramlett in second (.455), and
Jordan Williams in fifth (.434). As a team, the Rams hold the top batting average at .355 which ranks 14
th overall in all of Division II.
