SAN ANGELO, Texas – The No. 9 Angelo State Belles volleyball team hosts two Lone Star Conference matches for the Lone Star Conference tournament as Angelo State will play on Wednesday, March 24 as the Belles received a bye for the opening round of the tournament for winning their division. ASU will play the winner between Midwestern State and Dallas Baptist, who will play on Tuesday, March 23.

Scouting the Mustangs:
The Mustangs finished conference play on the road as Midwestern State traveled to Fort Smith, Arkansas to face the Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions, where the Mustangs split the series with the Lions, winning the first match in five sets, 3-2, and dropping the second match in four sets, 3-1. The Mustangs finished the season with a 9-6 overall record and an 8-4 conference record. Freshman Lauryn Bourne leads the Mustangs on offense, registering 131 kills on the season so far and averaging 2.85 kills per set. Bourne scored 149.5 points for the Mustangs, registering five assists, 13 service aces, 148 digs, and 10 blocks on the season.
Scouting the Patriots:
The Patriots finished conference play at home as they hosted the Texas A&M-Commerce Lions, where the Lions defeated the Patriots in both matches, sweeping the first match in three sets, 3-0, and defeating the Patriots in four sets in match two, 3-1. DBU finished the season with a 3-9 overall and conference record. Sophomore Bailey Hebert led the Patriots offensively, scoring 147 points over the season and averaging three points per set. Hebert has registered 137 kills in the 2020 season, averaging 2.80 kills and hitting with a .135 hitting percentage. She has also registered eight digs, four service aces, 96 digs, and nine blocks.
Scouting the Belles:
- Kailyn Gilbreath leads the Belles on offense as she has registered 178 total kills on the season so far, averaging 3.36 kills per set, and is ranked third in the conference for kills and third in points, scoring 210 points and averaging 3.96 per set. Gilbreath has currently registered 168 assists and averages 3.17 assists per set, 16 service aces, 143 digs and averages 2.7 digs per set, and 32 blocks on defense.
- Lindsey Ledyard continues to show her skills as the starting setter for the Belles as she as registered 379 assists this season, averaging 7.90 assists per set. Ledyard is ranked fourth in the conference in assists. Ledyard has also registered 14 service aces, 125 digs and averages 2.6 digs per set, and 10 blocks on defense for Angelo State.
- Chloe Pattons leads the Belles defensively, registering 307 digs and averaging 5.79 digs per set, while registering 46 assists and six service aces on the 2020 season.
