SAN ANGELO, Texas – After picking up their first conference win just two days ago, the Angelo State women's basketball team played a complete game to earn conference win number two after defeating Texas A&M-International 71-52 in the Junell Center Saturday afternoon.
The Rambelles improve to 6-1 on the season and move to 2-0 in Lone Star Conference play. The Dustdevils fall to 4-3 after losing a pair of LSC contests this weekend.
40 MINUTE RUNDOWN
- Sawyer Lloyd got off to a quick start, scoring seven of the Rambelles first 13 points as the Blue and Gold took a 13-6 lead just over halfway through the first quarter.
- Madeline Stephens would stretch the lead to nine, 15-6, after both teams went scoreless for nearly two minutes.
- Lloyd would add a pair of free throws as the Rambelles took a 17-11 lead into the second quarter.
- Six straight points by Stephens pushed the Rambelles lead to double figures, 26-15, with seven minutes to go in the first half.
- Lloyd, Stephens, and Payton Brown would all add buckets before the half, leaving the lead 37-28 at the break.
- A Madisen Honea triple followed by two more Stephens layups would extend the Rambelles lead to 20, 54-34, with 2:34 remaining in the third.
- The Rambelles defense was stellar throughout the quarter as the team only allowed eight total points to the visiting Dustdevils.
- Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant extended the lead to its greatest, 64-42, with 4:56 remaining in the contest.
- Brighton Adams, Kenslee Konarik, and Olivia Pedigo all made contributions down the stretch as the Rambelles earned their fourth straight victory, 71-52.

- Lloyd led all scorers in the contest with 20 points to go along with six assists, four rebounds, three steals, and two blocks.
- Stephens had 19 points of her own on 7-11 shooting, going 5-5 from the free throw line and pulling down eight boards.
- Both McGhee-Pleasant and Brown scored ten points to round out the Rambelles double-digit scorers.
- The Rambelles went 27-62 from the field, shooting 43.5 percent in the contest and a stellar 13-15, 86.7 percent from the free throw line.
- Defensively, the Rambelles limited the Dustdevils to just 31.5 percent from the field, 17-54 and 20 percent (4-20) from three.
- The Rambelles never trailed in the contest.
