SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The offense came alive for the Angelo State baseball team as the Rams swept Sunday's doubleheader against St. Mary's, scoring 34 runs in two games at Dickson Stadium.
With the sweep, the Rams improve to 11-3 overall and in Lone Star Conference play, winning 18-4 in game one and 16-0 in game two.
Game 1: ASU 18, StMU 4
The Rattlers scored the first run of the day in the bottom of the second inning, scoring on an RBI double to right field.
ASU answered back in the next inning as
Justin Lee doubled to left-center to bring home

Austin Beck hit a two-run double to the opposite side. Hitting in the DH spot,
Tayten Tredaway capped off the inning with a two-run homer to right field to give the Rams a 5-1 lead.
After StMU added two more runs in the bottom of the third, the Rams extended their lead in the fifth as
Koby Kelton was hit by a pitch with bases loaded before
Reese Johnson hit a single up the middle to score Beck.
Aaron Munson started on the mound for ASU, throwing six innings while allowing three earned runs off six hits and striking out five batters.
Justin Low closed out the game in the seventh, giving up two hits and no runs through one inning.
Leading 7-4 heading into the seventh, the Rams broke away with 11 runs in the inning to go up 18-4.
Jackson Hardy scored four runs on a single and a triple later in the inning while
Justin Lee hit a grand slam over the right-field wall.
Lee finished with five RBIs off four hits followed by Hardy with four hits and four RBIs while Beck and Tredaway both recorded two hits in the game.
Game 2: ASU 16, StMU 0
The scoring continued for the Rams in the second game as Beck led off the first inning with a grand slam to jump out to a 4-0 lead.
Hardy added two more runs for ASU, hitting a ground out in the fourth and a sac-fly in the sixth to extend the lead.
Benjamin Elder tossed six scoreless innings, allowing only four hits and a walk while striking out five batters to pick up his second win of the season.
Matthew Sykes pitched one inning in relief, not allowing a hit to close out the game.
Much like game one, the Rams batted around in the seventh inning to score 10 total runs. The Rattlers allowed three runs off wild pitches and walked in two more runs. Tredaway led the scoring off with an RBI single to right field while
Aaron Walters and Lee both hit singles in the inning to bring in a runner.
Seven Rams tallied at least one RBI with Beck collecting four, Hardy finishing with three, and Lee adding two of his own.
The Rams will return home next weekend as they host Lubbock Christian in a four-game LSC series at Foster Field at 1
st Community Credit Union Stadium beginning Friday, Mar. 4.
