#13 Belle Volleyball Travel to Colorado to Face Colorado Christian, Take Part in Colorado Premier Challenge

SAN ANGELO – Coming off a 3-1 weekend at the 14th Annual Kathleen Brasfield Tournament, the Angelo State volleyball team makes the trip up to Colorado to face Colorado Christian on Tuesday night before taking part in the 2022 Colorado Premier Challenge.

In their opening weekend, the Belles hit .202 as a team, recording 179 kills, led by Elsa Lamphere's 41 and Hannah Kinnison's 33.

Laney Dale was the Belles' top setter with 84 assists, with libero Caleigh Enax and middle blockers Grace White and Marina Sanchez leading the defensive effort for the Belles. Enax recorded a team-high 57 digs while White and Sanchez combined for 33 blocks this past weekend.

Colorado Christian has opened their season to a 1-3 record so far, recording a win over Western Colorado and dropping matches to #19 UT Tyler, #22 Southwest Minnesota State and Colorado Mesa.

The Cougars are hitting .189 as a team, with opponents hitting .215 against them.

The Belles and the Cougars last played in 2018, with the Cougars claiming a five-set victory on their home court; their previous three matchups had seen the Belles sweep the Cougars each time, including twice in 2017.

Friday and Saturday will feature the Belles making their eighth appearance at the Colorado Premier Challenge. All-time, they boast a 16-13 record in their previous seven appearances, and have finished either third or fourth five total times.

Last year, the Belles finished third in the Challenge, defeating top-ranked Concordia-St. Paul in the third-place match.

The Belles start Friday against Northwest Missouri State. The Bearcats are 4-0 on the season, including a 3-1 win over #14 West Texas A&M in Canyon this past weekend. This will be the first-ever matchup between the Belles and the Bearcats.

The Belles will then turn around and play hosts MSU Denver. The Roadrunners, like the Bearcats, are also 4-0 on the season after a perfect opening weekend.

This marks a rematch from last year's South Central regional semifinal in which the Roadrunners ended the Belles' season with a 3-1 victory on their home court.

The Belles are 4-2 all-time against the Roadrunners and 3-2 against them in Denver.

The results of Friday's matches for the Belles will determine their opponents for Saturday.
