SAN ANGELO – Winners of their past four conference games, the Angelo State volleyball team faces their most formidable opponent of the Lone Star Conference schedule this weekend when they make the trip to Canyon, Texas, to face 15th-ranked West Texas A&M on Friday. The Lady Buffs, like the Rambelles, are 4-0 in LSC play, the only two teams in the conference to hold that record.
After a slow start, Coach Waddington's squad has won their past five matches to bring themselves back to .500 on the season.
In LSC play, the Belles have the fourth-best offense with a .201 hitting percentage and own the third-best defense, holding opponents to a .105 hitting percentage.
Over the whole season, the Belles have recorded 136 blocks, second-best in the conference, and are paced in that category by
Marina Sanchez, who leads the LSC with 1.40 blocks per set, which ranks her seventh nationally.
Caleigh Enax, in addition to being fourth in the conference with 23 service aces this season, is fifth in LSC play, averaging 4.76 digs per set. The sophomore recorded a career-high 31 digs in the Belles' five-set victory over Midwestern State this past weekend.

Cate Boldrick is second in the LSC in conference play with a .432 hitting percentage, only committing four errors in four matches.
SCOUTING THE LADY BUFFS
West Texas A&M is 11-4 overall on the season and 4-0 in conference play. Three of the Lady Buffs' four losses have come against top-15 opposition; they also have a win over No. 11 Central Missouri this season.
All-American Torrey Miller leads the Lady Buffs' offense with 209 kills this season. In their previous matchup on September 8
th at the LSC Crossover, Miller led the Buffs with ten kills in their sweep of the Belles.
Freshman Taytum Stow leads the team with 65 blocks this season, seven of which came against the Belles in their last meeting; sophomore libero Emma Patterson recorded 23 digs against the Belles and is averaging 4.08 digs per set.
The Belles last faced the Lady Buffs in Canyon in the spring of 2021, losing twice, once in three, and once in five sets. The Belles last won in Canyon in 2019.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
Cameron is 5-12 on the season and winless in four LSC matches. The Aggies are currently riding an eight-match losing streak, dating back to September 3
rd.
Two-time All-LSC selection Arianna Navarette leads the Aggies, with the junior responsible for over a third of all Aggie kills this season.
The Belles are 32-11 all-time against the Aggies and have won the past 21 head-to-head meetings, dating back to 2007. Last season, the Belles swept the Aggies in Lawton.
Following this weekend, the Belles are back home the following weekend to host Lubbock Christian and Eastern New Mexico.
