Road Matches Against LSC, ENMU Await Rambelles

SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State volleyball team is on the road this weekend as they continue Lone Star Conference play, with the Rambelles taking on Lubbock Christian on Friday night before ending their weekend on Saturday afternoon against Eastern New Mexico in Portales.

LAST TIME OUT
The Belles split this past weekend, losing to No. 5 West Texas A&M in four sets on Friday night before defeating Cameron in four sets on Saturday afternoon. Against the Aggies, Hannah Kinnison and Caleigh Enax posted new career highs, with Kinnison burying 23 kills and Enax recording 36 digs.

DALE CHASING HISTORY
Setter Laney Dale has recorded 984 assists in her two seasons for the Belles, just 16 assists shy of hitting 1,000 career assists for the Blue and Gold. In the rally-scoring era (since 2001), Dale is eighth all-time in ASU history in assists and would be just the sixth player to cross the century mark in assists under head coach Chuck Waddington. Earlier this season, Dale earned her first LSC Setter of the Week award. She is one of two Belles to earn a weekly conference honor, with teammate Hannah Kinnison earning offensive player of the week last week.

BELLES IN THE POLLS
  •     The Belles are receiving 51 votes in the AVCA Top 25, the second-highest placed LSC team in the AVCA poll and just four positions out of the top 25.
  •     The Belles ended the 2022 season as the         eighth-ranked team in the LSC standings,         qualifying for the LSC Tournament. The Belles have qualified for the tournament every season under Waddington.
  •     The Belles were picked fifth in the LSC Preseason Poll behind West Texas A&M, UT Tyler, DBU, and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
  •     They are one of three LSC teams to appear in the poll, behind fifth-ranked West Texas A&M and ahead of DBU, who are receiving 26 votes.
  •     The Belles started the 2022 season ranked 13th in the country before dropping to 23rd the following week and falling out of the poll the next week, failing to rejoin at any point during the rest of the season.
  •     The Belles started the 2021 season ranked first in the country off the heels of the 2021 AVCA National Championship; they spent the entire 2021 season within the top 25 of the poll.
