Big Four Shine in Rambelles Victory Over Oklahoma Christian

SAN ANGELO, Texas - After suffering their first conference loss just two days ago, the Angelo State women's basketball team rebounded in a big way, defeating Oklahoma Christian 81-69 inside the Junell Center - Stephens Arena Saturday afternoon.
 
The Rambelles improve to 7-4 with the victory and now sit 3-1 in Lone Star Conference play. The Eagles fall to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
 
40 MINUTE RUNDOWN
  • Oklahoma Christian got things started in the game, scoring the game's first four points.
  • A layup by sawyer Lloyd at the 6:38 marker gave the Rambelles the lead 9-8.
  • A three-pointer by Kate Bradley gave the Eagles the lead 20-17, and the Rambelles were able to hit free throws to bring it to a one-point deficit going into the second quarter.
  • Three straight buckets from the big three gave the Rambelles the lead 25-20 with 8 minutes remaining in the half.
  • A three-pointer from Madeline Stephens at the 6:26 marker for the second quarter gave her 1000 points for her career.
  • A Layup from Sawyer Lloyd gave the Rambelles the biggest lead of the half, 40-31. The Eagles would hit a free throw to bring the deficit to 40-32 going into halftime.
  • The Rambelles went on a 13-7 run in the first six minutes of the third quarter to give them a 16-point lead, 54-38.
  • The Eagles brought the deficit back into single digits, but a three-ball by Landry Morrow gave a 12-point lead right back to the Rambelles.

  • McGhee-Pleasant would end the game with 1,001 career points after a 13-point and six-rebound performance.

  • Landry Morrow would have her season high with 15 points and eight assists.
