ANGELO STATE vs UT TYLER
- The Rambelles were bested by the Patriots 62-51 at the Junell Center/Stephens Arena in the teams' sole meeting during conference play.
- The Blue and Gold scored a season-low 51 points in the loss on a season-worst 25.4 percent shooting.
- Sawyer Lloyd led the way for the Rambelles in the first matchup as she scored 16 points and pulled in seven rebounds.
- Meagan Mendazona led a balanced offensive attack for UTT as she put in 17 points on only five field goals, going 7-10 from the free throw line.
- The Patriots routed West Texas A&M in their first-round contest, downing the Lady Buffs 75-54.
- LSC Sixth-Woman of the Year Martina Machalova led the way with 20 points off the bench as four scored in double figures in the victory.
- All-time, the Rambelles and Patriots have only played each other four times with both sides taking home two victories.
TOURNAMENT FIELD
(1) Texas Woman's vs (8) St. Edward's
- TWU won the LSC title outright, were the east division champions, and won both regular season contests between the two sides, 64-53 and 70-51.
- This game begins shortly, scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Comerica Center in Frisco on Thursday, Mar. 2nd.
(4) Lubbock Christian vs (5) Texas A&M-Kingsville
- LCU earned a share of the west division title, but were given the four-seed based on the tiebreaker policy.
- In their only contest during the regular season, the Lady Chaps downed TAMUK 76-61 on the road in Kingsville.
- The Lady Chaps and Javalinas are scheduled for an 8:30 tip with the winner advancing to play the victor of TWU, SEU on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
