Rambelles Travel to Sooner State to Face No. 25 Oklahoma Christian

SAN ANGELO – Coming off their first Lone Star Conference series sweep of the season, the Angelo State softball team hits the road up north to take Oklahoma Christian in a three-game series. The Rambelles and the Eagles will face each other on Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m., with the series finale set to occur at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The Rambelles are 17-9 on the season and 9-6 in conference play; they are coming off a sweep of Texas Woman's this past week, where they only allowed two runs in 25 innings of action.

The Rambelles are hitting .306 as a team with 32 home runs; they average 5.8 runs per game.

Angelo State has swiped 84 bases this season, the most in Division II.

Ashlyn Lerma, the Rambelles' leadoff hitter, leads the team with a .390 batting average; she leads the country with 36 stolen bases, which is more than 222 teams have tallied this season in Division II.

Ashton McMillan is hitting .382 on the season, while Paxton Scheurer and Bailey Martinez also have batting averages above .300, with Schuerer hitting .356 and Martinez hitting .328 on the season.

Scheurer leads the team with nine home runs and 29 RBIs this season while slugging .759.

Martinez is hitting .429 (15-for-35) since becoming the Rambelles' starting first baseman.

The Rambelles' pitching staff has a 2.49 ERA and an opposing batting average of .219.

After pitching ten innings in the Rambelles' 13-inning win over Texas Woman's on Tuesday, Cheyenne Floyd's ERA now sits at 1.38.

Genesis Armendariz and Torrey Hogan picked up complete-game shutout victories yesterday over the Pioneers.
 
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Oklahoma Christian is 16-5 on the season and 11-4 in conference play. The Eagles are 4-2 this season on their home field and are coming off a series win against Cameron midweek, winning two out of the three games; the Eagles were no-hit in their loss against the Aggies.

The Eagles are hitting .299 as a team, led by Kelsey Gammage's .400 average and Aaliyah Brown's .356 average. The Eagles have hit eight home runs this season and score 5.1 runs per game.
