Canyon, Texas – The Angelo State Volleyball team claimed their fifth-consecutive sweep with a three-set win over Oklahoma Christian on Thursday afternoon in the LSC Quarterfinals inside The Box on the campus of West Texas A&M.
The Rambelles took sets one and two 25-18 win before a clinching 25-22 win in the third set.
The Belles' stout defense held the Eagles to a .081 attack percentage while hitting .243 themselves.
Evelyn Torres and
Madi Parrish led the Belles attack with 11 kills each; Parrish was one of three Belles to record an ace.
Demi Carter had eight kills and a .438 attack percentage, while fellow freshman
Sydney Thornton had seven kills and a .545 attack percentage. Carter had four digs and a pair of blocks while Thornton had three blocks, tied for most on the team.
Adeline Ortman assisted 37 times and fell shy of a double-double with eight digs. She tied Thornton with three blocks to lead the Belles.
Caleigh Enax led all players with 22 digs, her 11
th match with 20 or more digs.
Cate Boldrick and
Kaila Garnett had a pair of kills each, with the latter converting both of her swings for a perfect attack percentage.
The Belles improve to 26-2 on the season; they will face three-seed UT Tyler in the LSC Semifinals tomorrow at 5 p.m.
