No.16 Rambelles Win First Match of the Season Against Seward County

SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo  State women's tennis team won their first match of the season, 6-1, against Seward County Friday afternoon at the ASU Tennis Complex.
 
The Rambelles move to 1-0 with the victory.
 
Angelo State took the doubles point over Seward County with wins on court one and court two. The freshmen pairing of Benedetta Raggiotti and Margaux Rene on court two 6-0. The No.3 nationally ranked pairing of Eva Schwartz and Avery Durham won on a tie-breaker 8-6 to clinch the double point for the Rambelles.
 
Margaux Rene was the first to clinch a point for the Rambelles in singles play, defeating Alejandra Botella 6-1, 6-0 on court three. Elise Gillis was the second to finish,  defeating Josefina Bailetti on court five, 6-2, 6-1.
 
Ivet Stancheva clinched the match, defeating Elena Oborocea, 6-3, 6-3 to keep her undefeated streak going in her sophomore year. 
 
Benedetta Raggiotti defeated Ototha Mogi  7-5, 6-1 to make the match 5-0.
 
Jessica Li fell to Emma Petton on line one 6-4, 7-5.
 
The Rambelles automatically won two points in the contest due to Seward County only having five available players
