SAN ANGELO, Texas - After leading the Angelo State Women's Soccer team to a historic and record-setting 2024 campaign, the team's coaching staff, led by head coach
Travis McCorkle has been recognized as the United Soccer Coaches NCAA South Central Region Coaching Staff of the Year.
Â
This is the first time that McCorkle and his staff have earned this honor since the 2020 season. McCorkle is joined on his staff by Assistant Coach Harold Munoz and Graduate Assistant
Julia Lashlee.Â
Â
This coaching staff led Angelo State to its best season in program history, highlighted by its first Regional Final appearance in program history and its fifth Lone Star Tournament title in program history.Â
Â
The Rambelles went 14-2-5 on the season, as 10 different Rambelles earned all-LSC recognition, while four players were named to the all-region teams.
Â
ASU outscored its opponents this season by a combined score of 36-12, the 17th-best goal differential in the nation. The Belles defense ranked fifth in the nation with a .667 shutout percentage.
Â
The staff will now be placed on the United Soccer Coaches National Staff of the Year ballot. Voting will begin in early December, and the winner will be announced on Friday, Dec. 20. McCorkle and staff previously won the National Staff of the Year in the 2020 season after going 10-0 and winning the LSC regular season and tournament titles.Â
