RICHARDSON, Texas – After earning a provisional mark in the men's pole vault at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational, Angelo State track and field's Oleg Ananyev has been named the Lone Star Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Ananyev, a freshman management major from Irkutsk, Russia, cleared a height of 5.32m (17-5.5) to finish seventh overall in the event while leading all Division II competitors. His mark leads the Lone Star and ranks second overall in all of Division II.
