ASU Track & Field Heads to Lubbock on Friday

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State track and field teams head north this weekend as the Rams and Rambelles compete at the Stan Scott Invite hosted by Texas Tech on Friday and Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT:
- The Rams and Rambelles collected six provisional marks at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invite in New Mexico.
- Jacent Nyamahunge collected three provisional marks during the meet, taking sixth in the 400-meter dash (55.49), ninth in the 60-meter dash (7.52), and sixth as a member of the 4x400-meter relay (3:50.80)
-Oleg Ananyev earned a provisional in the men's pole vault, clearing a height of 5.32m (17-5.5), which puts him at No. 2 overall in all of Division II.
 
Quick Notes:
-The Rams are ranked 18th in the first USTFCCCA Top 25 ranking for the indoor season.
-ASU has tallied nine provisional marks so far this season.
-The Rams and Rambelles currently lead the Lone Star Conference in seven events: pentathlon – Kylie Frush (3,464), men's weight throw – Cole Paxton (10.08m | 59-4), women's pole vault – Kylyie Paden (3.52m | 11-6.5), men's pole vault – Oleg Ananyev (5.32m | 17-5.5), men's 4x400-meter relay (3:12.48), women's 60-meter dash – Jacent Nyamahunge (7.52), men's 200-meter dash – Taylor Briggs (21.79).
-The Rambelles will send 13 athletes to Lubbock while the Rams will have 19 athletes competing.
 
The Stan Scott Invite begins on Friday at 3 p.m. with the weight throw while running events start at 4 p.m. with the women's 60-meter hurdles.
