LUBBOCK, Texas – The Angelo State track & field teams wrapped up the Stan Scott Invite hosted by Texas Tech on Saturday, collecting 10 provisional marks during the meet.
For the 18th-ranked Rams, Oleg Ananyev finished first overall in the pole vault, clearing a height of 5.30m (17-4.5). Josh Body improved on his provisional mark in the triple jump, hitting 14.99m (49-2.25) which puts him 13th overall in Division II.
Antonio Blair and Adrian Nethersole finished sixth and seventh overall in the 800-meter run, earning provisional times of 1:51.19 and 1:51.32 which also rank as the top two times in the Lone Star Conference
In the men's 200-meter dash, Solomon Odonkor earned a provisional time of 21.41 while Taylor Briggs crossed the finish line at 48.39 in the men's 400-meter dash for his first provisional of the season. Odonkor's time also leads the conference in the event.
In the 4x400-meter relay, Briggs, Nethersole, Blair, and Kacy Kincaid combined for a time of 3:12.93 to take seventh overall.
On the women's side, Fedra Florentin improved on her provisional throw in the shot put, taking fourth overall with a mark of 14.08m (46-2.5).
Jacent Nyamahunge earned two provisional times in the meet, running a time of 24.22 in the 200-meter dash, and 56.25 in the 400-meter dash. Her 200-meter time ranks first in the conference and 11th overall in Division II.
Kamryn Williams and Marie Schuler finished sixth and seventh respectively in the weight throw, earning marks of 16.17m (53-0.75) and 16.16m (53-0.25)
The Rams and Rambelles will take next weekend off before returning to Lubbock for the Jarvis Scott open on Friday, Feb. 14.
