ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Angelo State track & field teams concluded the New Mexico Collegiate Open on Saturday, collecting six provisional marks on day two.
The sixth-ranked Rambelles collected two provisional times in the 60-meter hurdles as
Maricia Spence finished 21
st overall at 8.74 followed right behind by
Ariyah Samuels at 8.75.
Jacent Nyamahunge also earned a provisional time in the 60-meter dash, taking 16
th overall with a time of 7.43.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Samuels
Averie Griffith,
Allison Vaughn, and
Kylie Frush finished 17
th overall, running a time of 3:58.61.
Frush also finished 27
th in the triple jump with a mark of 10.82m (35'-6").
On the men's side,
Jacobee Jones finished seventh overall in the pole vault, hitting a provisional mark after clearing a height of 5.25m (17'-2.75") which leads the conference.
Josh Body took third in the triple jump, hitting a provisional mark of 15.09m (49'-6.25").
Also earning a provisional time was the 4x400-meter relay team of
Prince Frimpong,
Max Wassmer,
Bossman Pinkrah, and
Tristan Guerrero who crossed the finish line at 3:13.29 to take eighth overall.
The Rams and Rambelles are back in action next weekend as they compete at the Texas Tech Open beginning on Friday, Feb. 9.
