NORMAN, Okla. - The Angelo State track & field teams collected three provisional marks in the first meet of 2025, competing at the Owen Hewett Invitational on the campus of Oklahoma on Friday.
In the women's shot put, Fedra Florentin finished fifth overall with a provisional mark of 13.91m (45-7.75) while Federica Dozio earned sixth at 13.29m (43-7.25).
Jacent Nyamahunge also earned a provisional mark for the Rambelles in the 60-meter invite, running a time of 7.63 to finish ninth overall in the event.
In the open section of the women's weight throw, Kamryn Williams took first overall with a throw of 16.02m (52-6.75) while Jillian Halfmann won the open pole vault at 3.15m (10-4).
Shackelia Green earned the fastest time in the open section of the 60-meter dash, crossing the finish line at 7.83 while the 4x400-meter relay team of Kaylee Price, Lainey Jernigan, Green, and Nyamahunge took third with a time of 3:56.88.
On the men's side, Josh Body earned a provisional mark in the triple jump, clearing a distance of 14.92m (48-11.5) to finish third overall in the event.
Mark Burdin won the open section of the shot put, throwing a mark of 14.61m (47-11.25) while also taking second in the open pole vault at 4.45m (14-7.25) and fourth in the open long jump (6.69m | 21-11.5).
Kobi Valchar finished third in the shot put with a throw of 14.20m (46-7.25) while Cole Paxton was fourth in the men's weight throw at 18.00m (59-0.75).
The Rams and Rambelles will be back in action next week as they compete at New Mexico's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational beginning Friday, Jan. 24.
