SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State tennis team will embark on a five-match road trip Friday through Tuesday beginning with a Lone Star Conference matchup against Midwestern State and ending against Florida Tech.

The Belles are 5-3 this spring and will face the Mustangs at 1 p.m. Friday in Wichita Falls Friday for their first LSC match. After that, the team will travel to Florida for matches against Charleston, Millersville and Saint Thomas Aquinas in Orlando and a match against Florida Tech in Melbourne.

ASU is led by Maria Delgadillo, who has dropped just one singles match all season while winning seven on court No. 2. Delgadillo is also 5-3 in doubles play with her partner Ena Ovcina.

Ovcina has played on court one for the Belles this season, where she has gone 5-3.

On court three, ASU has mainly used Yasmine Ansari, who has a 4-3 record. In doubles, Ansari has partnered with Virginie Becht, who is coming off her best week of the spring season. Becht won both of her singles matches last week and is now 6-4 on the season.

In doubles play, the pair has gone 4-3 with an 8-6 win on court three in the most recent match against Dallas Baptist.

 The final doubles pairing of Zoe Gubbels and Lucie Maitrot enters the weekend with a 5-3 record overall. Individually, Gubbels has mainly played on court three and has a 5-3 record this season, while Maitrot has gone 5-3 mainly playing on courts five and six.

Angelo State has also gotten contribution from Melanie Dreux this year, who is 3-1 in singles play and has one win in doubles while playing with Becht.
