SAN ANGELO, Texas – The 12
th-ranked Angelo State women's tennis team will begin the opening rounds of the 2021 NCAA Division II National Championship as the Belles take on fourth-seeded Texas A&M – Kingsville in the quarterfinals of the South-Central Regional Tournament.
Hosted by Midwestern State, the South-Central Regional takes place on Monday, May 10-11 at the Arlington Tennis Center. The Belles earned the top seed followed by Midwestern, St. Mary's, and Kingsville to round out the regional.
LAST TIME OUT:
With the cancelation of the Lone Star Conference Tournament due to consistent rain, the Belles played their last match on 4/25, closing out the regular season to earn back-to-back titles after defeating UT Tyler 5-2.

SCOUTING TEXAS A&M - KINGSVILLE:
The Javelinas have won five of their last six matches, picking up wins over DBU and Cameron 4-3 while sweeping UT Permian Basin and Arkansas Fort Smith in the process. Milou Ter Morsche leads the squad at No. 5, holding a 9-5 record while tallying 10 singles wins on the season. Maya Donkor and Laura Montalvo have tallied the most doubles wins for the Javelinas at No. 1, holding a 7-8 record on the season.
The Belles defeated the Javelinas once already this season, meeting in San Angelo at the beginning of April as ASU won 6-1 to earn the second straight win over TAMUK.

Zoe Gubbels have won their last nine doubles matches at the No. 2 slot. Becht has built a 16-3 overall record in singles play while
Valentina Gonzalez and Gubbels are 11-5.
