Arkadelphia, Ark. – The Angelo State women's tennis team opened their spring 2022 season with a tight loss to Mississippi College before rebounding to sweep Ouachita Baptist on their home court.

The Belles took the doubles point with wins by Valentina Gonzalez/Ena Ovcina and Ramitha Irrinki/Ayda Guler.

Wins by Dianela Rodriguez on line two and Eva Schwartz on line five were not enough as the Choctaws took the other four singles matches in straight sets to claim the victory.

The Belles rebounded to sweep the Tigers 7-0, with Irrinki/Guler, Schwartz/Mieke Van Deventer, and Alexandra Vishnevskaya/Esther Bowers all winning their respective doubles matches.

Schwartz (line two), Irrinki (line four), Van Deventer (line five), and Vishnevskaya (line six) would all win their singles matches in straight sets.
