Belles Tennis Returns Home for Conference Matchups Against DBU, Midwestern State

SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State tennis team returns home for a pair of conference matches this weekend, hosting DBU on Friday (11 a.m. start time) before hosting Midwestern State on Saturday (noon start time).
The Belles are 8-5 on the season and 1-1 in conference play, winning at home against UTPB back on March 3rd before dropping a road match to St. Mary's last Friday.

The Belles' top doubles pairing, Valentina Gonzalez and Ena Ovcina, improved their overall record last week despite the Belles ultimately losing the match. The senior pairing is now 9-3 this season in doubles play.
Following closely behind their teammates is the pairing of Ramitha Irrinki and Ayda Guler. The Belles' number two pairing is 9-4 on the doubles side this season.

Irrinki and Dianela Rodriguez have led the way for the Rambelles on the singles side with ten wins for Irrinki and nine wins for Rodriguez, with both only losing twice this spring.

Eva Schwartz and Guler aren't too far off the pace of their teammates, both with an 8-4 record in singles play as well.

SCOUTING THE LADY PATRIOTS
DBU is 13-6 overall on the season and 3-1 in conference play, with the conference loss coming against #6 Cameron.

The Lady Patriots are led by reigning LSC Player of the Year Taylor Leslie. This spring, Leslie is 4-2 in singles play and made it to the ITA South Central Regional Championship finals in the fall.

The Belles are 3-0 against the Lady Patriots and 1-0 in San Angelo.

SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
Midwestern State is 15-4 on the season and 3-0 in conference play.

Emilija Visic is undefeated for the Mustangs in singles play with a 13-0 record, and her and doubles partner Casie Currey are 11-2 on the season.

The Belles are 2-1 against the Mustangs and 1-0 in San Angelo.

Following this weekend, the Belles are on the road next weekend for matches against Arkansas Tech, UAFS, and Cameron.
