SAN ANGELO, Texas- The Angelo State Women's Tennis team kicked off Lone Star Conference play with a 7-0 win Sunday afternoon over Texas A&M- Kingsville at the ASU Tennis Complex.
The Belles clinched the double point with a top-spot win for
Ayda Guler and
Ramitha Irrinki, 6-0, and a 6-1 win for
Dianela Rodriguez and
Letizia Corsini in line three.
Esther Bowers and
Eva Schwartz won line two 6-3 finishing last in doubles.
The Belles won all six singles matches starting off with a quick line two match for
Letizia Corsini winning it 6-0, 6-0, and
Dianela Rodriguez with a top-position win at 6-1, 6-0. In position three,
Eva Schwartz took the win 6-3, 7-5 as well as
Ayda Guler with a 6-1, 7-5 win in line five. Both line four
Christine Jevicky and
Ramitha Irrinki in line six went into three sets, Irrinki with a 4-6, 6-3, 11-9 win and Jevicky with a 5-7, 6-3, 11-9 win.
The Belles continue LSC action on the road next week as they play two matches against UAFS and Cameron.
