SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State women's tennis team kicks off its season this weekend, facing Hardin-Simmons on Friday at 12:00 p.m. and Seward County on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.

This is the first time the Belles are back in action since the Islander Open in October.
Avery Durham at the Islander Open would advance to the 3rd-4th place match after winning her first match 7-5, 3-6 and taking the tiebreaker 10-6, before falling in the semifinals, 6-2, 6-9 against Saint Mary's. She would advance to the 3rd-4th place match against Saint Mary's, where she would fall 6-3, 6-1 to take home fourth place in the singles portion of Flight B.

In doubles action, the pairing of
Eva Schwartz and
Avery Durham would win their first match vs. Saint Mary's 6-2, advancing to the semi-finals against Texas A&M - Kingsville, where they would fall 6-4 and be placed in the 3rd-4th place match against Saint Mary's falling 6-1 to take fourth place in the doubles portion.

The Belles start off their spring season against the Cowgirls for the second straight season, and will also face Seward County for the first time in program history.
