Women's Tennis Will Burrow, Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

Rambelles Sweep the Weekend with a 6-1 Victory Over Ouachita Baptist

Arkadelphia, Arkansas - The Angelo State women's tennis team extended their winning streak to five matches with the 6-1 victory over Ouachita Baptist.
 
At No. 2 doubles, Ayda Guler and Letizia Corsini would defeat Natalia Zamora and Ruxandra Tolescu 6-2. Following the match, the pair moves to 7-0 in doubles action.
 
Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz would clinch the doubles point for the Rambelles with a 6-2 victory over Austynn Crocker and Sadbaroy Kholdarova at No.1 doubles.
 
The pairing of Mieke Van Deventer and Alexandra Vishnevskaya would win 6-3 over Oliva Gaston and Shelly Davilus at No.3 doubles.
 
Christine Jevicky would once again put in a dominant performance for the Rambelles, defeating Natalia Zamora 6-1, 6-0 to put the Rambelles 2-0 early.
 
Ivet Stancheva would continue her run of form as she would defeat Oliva Gaston at line 5 6-4, 6-0.
 
Ayda Guler would clinch the match for the Rambelles, winning on line four 6-1, 6-3 vs. Ruxandra Tolescu.
 
Avery Durham would get her first singles match action of the year, and she would come up big for the Rambelles, winning 6-2 in straight sets on line six to give the Rambelles a 5-0 lead.
 
Eva Schwartz would play at No.1 singles for the first time this year, and she would make the most of it by defeating Austynn Crocker 6-2, 6-1 to give the Rambelles a 6-0 lead.
 
Jessica Li would fall to Sadbaroy Kholdarova 6-1, 7-6 to give OBU their first point. The Rambelles would win 6-1.
 
The Rambelles return to action on March 2nd as they open LSC play with Texas A&M-Kingsville.
