RICHARDSON, Texas – After an effort that surged the Rambelles to a third-place team finish at the Our Lady of the Lake (OLLU) West Side Classic, Chasity Benson was named Lone Star Conference Freshman Women Runner of the Week as announced by the conference on Tuesday morning
Benson, a biology major from Roby, Texas, crossed the finish line in a career-best 6K time of 23:08.1 at Windcrest Golf Course on Saturday, Oct. 12. Her score netted her 22nd place in a field of 79 runners, which allowed the Rambelles to clinch third place as a team, ahead of Lone Star Conference foe Texas A&M International.
The Angelo State University cross country program will remain idle this week as the Rams and Rambelles prepare for the Lone Star Conference Championships scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26 in Kingsville, Texas.
