Mary Brown and
Chasity Benson of Angelo State University's cross-country program competed in the 6K race at the South Central Regional, hosted by MSU Denver, on Saturday afternoon.
Just as they have done all season long, seniors
Allison Vaughn and
Mary Brown were the first two runners to complete the race for the Rambelles. Vaughn finished in 89
th place with a time of 24:57.97 while Brown crossed the line less than ten seconds and seven spots later with her time of 25:08.58 placing her in 96
th.
Chasity Benson competed in the first regional of her career and came out ahead of 44 runners from various schools within the Lone Star Conference (LSC) and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC).
With the results finalized in this event, so is the conclusion of the cross-country season for ASU. The athletes within the program will now turn their attention to the indoor track season which is scheduled to begin in December.
