SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State University cross country program will travel to Kingsville, Texas to compete in the 2024 Lone Star Conference Championships hosted by Texas A&M-Kingsville and scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26.
RACE INFORMATION
Both races will take place Dick Kleberg Park, located at 501 Santiago Park Lane, Kingsville, Texas. The men will begin the event running the 8K at 9 a.m. CT with the women following in the 6K scheduled to begin at 9:45 a.m. CT.
LAST TIME OUT
Both teams etched top five team finishes at the West Side Classic hosted by Our Lady of the Lake University back on Oct. 12.
In the 8K, the Rams clinched fifth place as
Jack Collins finished 17
th individually with a time of 26:50.2. The freshman continued their success as
Alex Hauck,
Caden Glenn and
Kevin Martinez finished within the top 40.
For the Rambelles,
Allison Vaughn and
Mary Brown each earned top 10 individual finishes in the 6K which propelled the team to a third-place finish. Their respective times of 21:56.2 and 21:58.8 are ranked the third and fifth best 6K times in the conference.
Chasity Benson's time of 23:08.1 scored 19 points and was enough to earn LSC Freshman Woman Runner of the Week honors.
Emily Mila and
Ashley Stratton finished 27
th and 28
th to secure a spot within the top half of the field.
