LUBBOCK, Texas – The Angelo State University cross country teams competed in the Texas Tech Open to begin the 2024 season at the LCU Cross Country Course. The Rambelles wrapped up the event in sixth place while the Rams finished in 11^th.

RAMBELLES

• The Belles competed in the 6K and finished in sixth place, ahead of Lone Star Conference foe, Western New Mexico, with a team time of 2:08:13.6.
• Mary Brown crossed as the top finisher for the Rambelles with a time of 24:21.3 which was good for 25^th individually.
• Allison Vaughn was not too far behind as she finished 31^st overall with a time of 25:01.5.
• Newcomers made an impact for the Belles as Chasity Benson finished 49^th with a time of 25:48.2 and Ashley Stratton's time of 26:27.9 was enough for 63^rd.

RAMS

• The Rams competed in the 8K and finished in 11^th place as a team with a total time of 2:25:35.
• Jack Collins was the first Ram to cross the finish line with a time of 28:12.1, giving himself 64th place overall.
• Austin Souther soon followed as his time of 28:35.76 slotted him in 74^th place individually.
• Alex Hauck finished 22 seconds after Souther in 80th place with a time of 28:57.4.
• Caden Glenn's time of 29:23.0 put him just seven spots behind Hauck in 87th.
